My Story
Why I do what I do....
My life, like so many, has been shaped by moments of trying struggles and great loss. I have seen, first hand, how economic hardships and dysfunctional family systems make even the most rudimentary functions of daily living a challenge, to say the least. Life in survival mode kept the opportunity of 'thriving', essentially out of reach.
As if childhood tribulations weren't enough, I became a single mom at 17. Teen parentage, while certainly unconventional and far from what I imagined for myself - I knew right then, that I wasn't going to let my pay the price for a decision that I had made, so I went to work.
To this day, I find myself eager to be of service to others. I choose to believe that the experiences I endured were opportunities, designed not only to build my own resilience, but to empower those around me to acknowledge theirs.
